Appointments Tailored To Meet Your Needs
- Six to twelve psychotherapy appointments are appropriate for mild conditions.
- Longer-term conditions with entrenched patterns of feeling, thinking and behaviour, with distress affecting everyday life will need 6 to 12 months or longer of weekly psychotherapy.
- Concessional patients reach the extended Medicare safety net (EMSN) in 6 consultations. Non-concessional patients reach the extended Medicare safety net (EMSN) in 12 consultations per calendar year.
Unlimited Consultations Under Medicare
Patients in longer-term psychotherapy can have regular twice-weekly consultations under Medicare. This is because Dr Dawborn is a GP. Patients can always begin psychotherapy with a Mental Health Care Plan then continue with regular GP consultations when this is completed. All personal therapy appointments are for 50 minutes or 70 minutes. Couple sessions are for 60 minutes.
